THE ACHIEVERS

 In September 2019 Bluefunk was privileged to host the UK Blues Federation's Blues Challenge. A first for us and in consequence we had little idea of what to expect. In the event I genuinely believe we got lucky.

We got an excellent contest of such diversity that I doubt a better commercial for the genre we love could have been made by a professional ad agency. 

Each act was so different, all displaying top shelf talents and it was hard to believe that they all belonged under the umbrella of the Blues. Belong they did.

The Achievers were part of it. They emerged victorious. Worthy winners. Paradoxically had it been one of the other acts I would have said - Worthy winners. They were all that good and all very different. I remember thinking that had I put that show together purely to entertain rather than compete I would have been mighty proud of myself, and I was also relieved not to be a judge.

As winners, the Achievers begin a year of real musical adventure in Europe and America. We wish them well.
