Billy Walton Band at Poynton Legion
The Poynton Legion, the earliest established regular home of Bluefunk Rhythm and Blues Club, and now once again where we live. Housed in the Bailey Room with its own professionally installed house pa (renewed 2017), it is comfortable, well appointed and amply furnished when required.
We will be doing plenty of what we are well known for, ie the best bands the world can offer us on a regular 3rd Thursday every month. What is new is that on the 1st Sunday of every month we will be hosting a roots acoustic show 'Church of Bluefunk - the Devils Music' featuring the very best of British and international acoustic players. This is something we have wanted to do for a long time and are very excited about. Whilst these will be our regular dates we will not miss a chance to add extra dates to the calendar when we can, particularly if touring artists are not available on our default dates, always check dates.
Of extreme importance to us is the fact that The Legion has one of the best run bars in Christendom boasting 3 to 5 different cask ales at any time. It has won the coveted CAMRA award for Best Club seven years on the trot  2012-2018. Stick that in yer pot and drink it!  Situated right at the heart of Poynton about a half mile from Poynton railway station (London -Manchester line) it couldn't be more convenient. It now even has the Poynton Brewery on site!

Our newest venue venture. In November 2019 Bluefunk will present its first shows at the CENTRE in POYNTON. Two entirely dfifferent shows back to back from the

Billy Walton Band.

Doesn't get any more exciting than that.

The McIlroy Suite
Macclesfield Town Football Club
London Road

George Borowski

In the early days of Bluefunk we organised an outdoor event here which was known as Blues at the Blues. From a stage built on the pitch, playing towards the main stand  5 superb Blues/Rock bands played an 8 hour concert which was one of the slickest one day festivals ever seen in Macclesfield, with a string of superb performances headlined by Aynsley Lister. It is remembered enthusiastically by those who were smart enough to attend and is often spoken about around the town.
Since that day many indoor events in the stadium's McIlroy suite have been produced, some Blues (Buddy Whittington, Chantel McGregor, Scott McKeon) and many other rock and indie shows.
Other Venues we have operated from:
Cuban Knights Bar
The Workies
Snowgoose Live
Cabin 5150
Ronnies Bar (Kiva)
Jim Kirkpatrick's Heavy Weather at Ronnies Bar
The Feud at Cabin 5150
