Look what Elliot found in the Carribean. A rather unusual souvenir on any level but when you get to know what this young lady can do it becomes no surprise that he wanted to share her extraordinary talents with his dad's blues club. This is Tarra Layne, and she is from Philadelphia but now lives in Nashville and plies her trade throughout the USA. This will be not only her debut at Bluefunk but also in the UK and it could be considered a privilege for us to have it.
Tarra is a phenomenal singer. To call her versatile is a crass understatement. She sings Rock like bad 'un, Country like a native, R'n'b like another native, but she loves to sing the blues.

She has sung on film soundtracks for Universal which is a big crowd to stand out in, has several Album releases to her credit, but when you understand that she writes the bulk of her own output you realise that this girl is the real deal, someone really special. A more complete Americana artist would be very hard to find.
Elliot was working with Tarra on board the cruise liner where he was the Entertainment Technical Manager. He instantly recognised her as a cut above the pack and made it his business to get to know her better. That's my boy.
It behoves me to mention why Tarra is here. She has recently been enlisted as the next musical Ambassador for a huge American charitable organisation.

She stands alongside some huge names in the music world none other than Chris Stapleton one of the biggest country rock artists on the planet and also Brian Eno.
The Campaign to Change Direction is a coalition of concerned citizens, non-profit leaders, and leaders from the private sector who have come together to change the culture in America about mental health, mental illness, and wellness. Our own Royal Family have also endorsed this project.
Well I for one am bloody well impressed. She is travelling to the Uk under their auspices to launch it in the UK. This has led to the serendipitous opportunity to invite Tarra to come to Bluefunk and show us what she can do. Lady Luck smiles on the righteous
