JIM KIRKPATRICK's HEAVY WEATHER

        with special guest JON AMOR

Sunday September 8th Bailey Room

Jim Kirkpatrick has been the corner stone of Bluefunk since its inception, not to mention the acts that Jim has arrived with that have brought us so much joy, Mary Lees Corvette from the US, Chris Cook from the US, The 'original' JLS, Bernie Marsden, Rory Gallagher's last rhythm section, it's an impressive list.

His solo acoustic show is as dynamic and exciting as everything else he touches.

Over the years Jim has established a reputation as a player second to none, his work with the slide is exceptional and he is currently flying high with FM whose status in the rock world increases daily. Yet another world class project he is heavily involved with, the Chris Bevington Organisation , has to be seen to be believed.

For me, Heavy Weather, Jim's own band, and the original band I first saw him with over 13 years ago, is still the one that gets me excited every time.  We welcome back Chris Cliff on bass and his partner in crime Keggsy McCallum on the kit. One of THE best rhythm sections you could ever see. Jim as a player, is free to go anywhere he wants with them and there is never a dull nano second but plenty of sheer magic.

For almost 2 years they were our resident act and we saw some extraordinary collaborations with a variety of guests. On this occasion they attempt to re-create the most memorable of them all as they are joined once again by the great Jon Amor of Hoax fame. Lip smackin'.
