The Club

142 Park Lane,    Poynton

Cheshire, SK12 1RG

Formerly known as the Workies, Bluefunk spent six very important years using this venue as our base and in that time established our reputation as one of the best Live music clubs in the UK and certainly the friendliest. Circumstances conspired to take us away but I am thrilled to be able to call it home once more.
While we were away, the venue has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and is now positively luxurious. The concert room is superb.
The bars are still superbly managed and well stocked and remarkably the management of the bars and venues has remained largely the same excellent management team, which is exceptional after approximately 9 years away.

 The Centre in Poynton

In November 2019 Bluefunk presented its first shows at the CENTRE in POYNTON. Two nights of entirely different shows back to back from the
Billy Walton Band. Superb.
Its location, immediately opposite The Club @142 means it will be sensible for us to use both venues in tandem, then if we are ever faced with date clashes with other venue users we should always be able to accomodate an important touring artist rather than lose an opportunity to book someone, and if you have been to one you will automatically know where the other one is !

In the early days of Bluefunk we organised an outdoor event here which was known as Blues at the Blues. From a stage built on the pitch, playing towards the main stand  5 superb Blues/Rock bands played an 8 hour concert which was one of the slickest one day festivals ever seen in Macclesfield, with a string of superb performances headlined by Aynsley Lister. It is remembered enthusiastically by those who were smart enough to attend and is often spoken about around the town.
Since that day many indoor events in the stadium's McIlroy suite have been produced, some Blues (Buddy Whittington, Chantel McGregor, Scott McKeon) and many other rock and indie shows.
