 Robbie McIntosh

Friday September 7th Bailey Room
Where do you start when trying to describe Robbie McIntosh? He certainly requires no 'bigging up'. If anything he needs talking down because his actual cv is a tad ridiculous, and on the edge of being unbelievable.
The facts of the matter are, that when you get to be as good at what you do as Robbie has, the very best in the world will beat a path to your door so they can bask in your brilliance.

We are all old enough to remember Live Aid. Robbie, at that time was the long term guitarist with The Pretenders and their performance was made all the more memorable by Robbie's phenomenal guitar playing. Since those days Robbie's currency as one of the world's most sought after session players has gone stratospheric. Live he has toured with Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Nora Jones and John Mayer.
In the studio he has recorded with  Talk Talk, Tears For Fears, Paul Young, Roger Daltrey, Mark Knopfler, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Paul McCartney, Louise Goffin, Cher, Eric Bibb, George Martin, Joe Cocker, Diane Tell, Luz Casal, Daryl Hall, Kirsty McColl, Mike and the Mechanics, Tori Amos, Zucherro and on and on and on.
Our good friend Jim Kirkpatrick, will be duetting with Robbie which can only be something extraordinary and Jim told me once that he rated Robbie as the best slide player in the country. Quite a plaudit from one who knows the difference.
Welcome to the top of the tree.
Here's a bit of nostalgia for you...................aah, when we were young.......................
