If Barry was the Queen (there have been rumours) his Christmas Message would have been centred upon him having an Annus Horribilis (or should that be Anus? Answers on a postca..............)  Seriously, Barry has had a year he will want to forget as quickly as possible.

His problems have centred around his son. When and where problems are focussed around a close family member they hurt bad, centred around a child of any age they are all consuming.

Barry's son was seriously ill and close to death.

Having a congenital heart condition, ground breaking surgery as a child had saved his life.  This had allowed him to live a normal life through to adulthood but left him susceptible to bad infections.

This summer he contracted Pneumonia and a fierce battle ensued. After many touch-and-go moments happily the infection was beaten and although not yet quite back to rude health he is back amongst us.

Barry put his life on hold while his son was ill, losing many gigs as a consequence, including his entire Irish Tour (a massive blow financially), where he is almost canonised.

so....Once more Barry Barnes returns to Bluefunk for his January (now rescheduled to March) pilgrimage with his band the mighty SINNERBOY the UK's best loved celebration of the life and work of the sainted Rory Gallagher. Who doesn't love Rory Gallagher? Who doesn't love Barry and his boys? Always a blast, always a night of great entertainment. Makes you look forward to the new year, and that takes some doing!

Acoustic, full on electric, Strat, Reso or Mandolin every golden nugget of Rory's repertoire is on tap. Drink every drop.

Lets make Barry's anus mirabilis {:-))
