We saw the hype and listened to the recordings and watched the videos. More than a little slack jawed after so doing, it was with a "could this be too good to be true" mindset that Mike Farris was invited to visit us in 2020. A Grammy winner in the USA and with a powerful rep he was virtually unknown in the UK after just two brief solo acoustic visits. Not any more.

You bought the hype that preceded him and the gig sold out.
The sound of jaws metaphorically hitting the floor was deafening after Mr Farris was seconds into his show. By the time he was done we were converted into Mike Farris devotees, possibly for life.

After a nearly 3 year long covid hiatus was forced upon us + all the other shite that touring bands have had to deal with, we can now be optimistic that Mr Farris will reach these shores once again.
If you haven't yet heard of this incredible singer or have forgotten him due to accruing extreme age in the interim then get your finger out and book this quickly.
As one of the few artists ever to sell-out on their first visit to Bluefunk, this time I only need ask "how long will it take?"
WHAT THEY SAY IN AMERICA :

"

With a supersized voice filled with the electricity of Saturday night and the godly grace of Sunday mornings ."  — Rolling Stone Country

"On the singalong 'Snap Your Fingers' and a touch cover of Willie Dixon's blues gem "Let Me Love You Baby," Farris takes us down to the river and washes us clean in spellbinding performances you'll return to as soon as they're over."  – American Songwriter

"Modern soul at its most potent and nostalgia-free" — The Nashville Scene

"Farris can turn his powerhouse vocals and stunning range to country, blues, gospel and heart-wrenching soul, and on 'Silver & Stone,' he certainly mixes it up."  — RnR Magazine

“Mike Farris has enough heart, soul, and power to light up a city. He mixes up the elements and turns them into something new, beautiful, and uniquely his own.”  — Buddy Miller

"Country and gospel music is in dire need of some pure heartfelt soul right now.  He's like a secret weapon — he's loaded with soul."  — Marty Stuart (Rolling Stone Country)
